Pollution Picture
Are you dreaming of going anywhere you can have sheer adventure? How about planning for a Christmas vacation somewhere it's not too freezing? Well you might want to read this list of places to avoid if you are planning to have a sweet vacay somewhere the air is clean and everything is cleanly green; not made green by industrial waste.

Here are the Top 10 places you would not want to visit if you are planning to enjoy a nice vacation if you despise pollution that is.

1. Linfen, China
2. Haina, Dominican Republic
3. Ranipet, India
4. Mailuu-Suu, Kyrgyzstan
5. La Oroya, Peru
6. Dzerzinsk, Russia
7. Norilsk, Russia
8. Rudnaya Pristan, Russia
9. Chernobyl, Ukraine (I wonder why???)
10. Kabwe, Zambia

Know of any place more polluted than those?

On Shopaholicism

October 31st 2006 08:10
compulsive shopping
Women are known to become shopping monsters right when they've been dumped, cheated on, PMS'ing or just about anytime they
feel the urge to become one.

Retail therapy is another version of the morning-after pill. You think it's working but it won't. Of course, almost 70% of women (according to my own survey with my girl friends), know that grabbing Jimmy Choo's right after breakup won't heal any scar but would actually result into more damage especially to our credit card limits. But we women still do it.

Shopping til we drop is our favorite bad habit. It just makes us US! AND shopping addiction does exist thanks to Psychology Today.

But how should anyone try to abate compulsive shopping from tearing into our credit reports?

Here are two do's and don'ts to avoid breaking in into the bank, er breaking the bank with your shopaholicism:

Shop when you're full.

Don't shop when you're full.. of frustration, anger or just about any bad vibes.

Too common good-shopper's tips you might say. But when did you actually follow them?

One way that I managed to make it hard for me to do compulsive shopping was when I folded (literally) my credit card. It made me feel bad for paying an annual credit card fee without really being able to use it but it made me learn how to get by without using plastic money for quite some time.

How about you? What keeps you from getting overboard with your shopping? Or are you even trying to? If you are Paris Hilton or Google no need to explain, really.

Your Are What You Want To Be

Shocked Baby
"Neither one person, nor any number of persons, is warranted in saying to another human creature of ripe years that he shall not do with his life for his own benefit what he chooses to do with it. All errors he is likely to commit against advice and warning are far outweighed by the evil of allowing others to constrain him to do what they deem his good." - an essay excerpt of John Stuart Mill's On Liberty

How Do You Retract Hurtful Words?

October 22nd 2006 19:25
Self-Flagellator
Oftentimes when caught in a heated altercation, we can be oh-so-stupid enough to say equally idiotic statements like "You beaaatch, I wish I believed my friends when they told me you won't do good as my wife!" or something to that effect?

Bursting with animosity might prompt us to deliver those harsh words. But how about those who are tactless or brutally frank people who can't live a day without hurting someone just by saying a few words?

In any of those mentioned situations, what do you usually do to extinguish the fire you've lit yourself? How do you tell that person that you were just possessed by an evil spirit when you said those words? Or do you even try?

Wasted Thoughts

Pink Sunset Picture
No buntings. No musicos. No signs of festivities. What gave it away to tell that this poverty-stricken community is actually celebrating its fiesta are the congested streets. Trapik!

Ideally, a fiesta culminates with boozefest. It's an activity barrio people usually indulge in. Delle is definitely not a townspeople. But she enjoys trying to be one all the same. She gulped a number of shots tipsy spirits would rather not count. (Syempre!) The lady's surrounded with people from all walks of life, a male ramp model, two factory workers, a bummer, a saleslady, a japayuki and a government employee. She's trying really hard to enjoy the company of the bummer. But as the alcohol-tolerance gets strained, the trying gets harder than ever. Boozefest equals gabfest. Ola amiga, who's that muchacha? Further acquaintances farther the topic. Each gets the chance to be a laughingstock. But all the while, she never felt the appetite to laugh. He's tracing circles on her palm. He's stealthily hinting scenes of what's to come. She's surprisingly oblivious.

Are you there yet?," he murmured.

Batting her eyelashes, "No way!," she teasingly responded.

It's maltose kicking in.

What Annoys You the Most?

Annoyingly Cute Baby
My father, an anti-social like me, has ingrained in me gazillions of bad habits (this my Mom can attest to), and one that annoys my friends the most is my being judgemental AND my perpetual tardiness. However, I'm proud to tell readers of this blog that I'm currently doing good with nixing the tardiness of moi. My homebusiness as an SEO writer has become a great help. Thanks to strict American clients.

The judgemental side? I'm having fun feeding it so I got no plans of working on it
